Welcome to RenttheLakelife.com. By accessing our website or booking a rental, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms.
 

 

1. Booking & Payments

  • Identification: All primary renters must be at least 21 years of age and provide a valid government-issued ID.

  • Payment Schedule: The full rental payment is due at booking.

  • Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit of $500 is required to cover potential damages or rule violations.

 

2. Rental Period & Occupancy

  • Check-in/Check-out: Check-in is at 9:00am and check-out is at 6:00pm. Unauthorized late check-outs may result in fees of $100 per hour.

  • Maximum Occupancy: The maximum number of guests is limited to 12 people. Exceeding this limit is grounds for immediate eviction without refund.

 

3. Equipment Rules

  • Prohibited Activities: Smoking, illegal substances, and unauthorized parties are strictly prohibited.

  • Pet Policy: Pets are not allowed. 

  • Watercraft Safety: Renters must follow all local boating laws. Life jackets must be worn at all times while the vessel is in motion.

 

4. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellation Policy:​

    • 80% refund if cancelled up to 2 days before arrival.

    • No refund for cancellations made less than 2 days before arrival.

  • Force Majeure: We will reschedule for free for cancellations due to "acts of God," such as severe weather, natural disasters, or government restrictions.

 

5. Liability & Responsibility

  • Assumption of Risk: Guests assume all risks associated with the rental, including use of the property and any provided amenities (e.g. boats, paddleboard, water hammocks, fishing poles, cooler, etc).

  • Limitation of Liability: RenttheLakelife.com is not responsible for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property during the stay.

  • Damage Responsibility: The primary renter is responsible for any damage caused by themselves or their guests that exceeds normal wear and tear.

 

6. Governing Law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Newaygo County, MI..
